Here you will find guidance on how to create a custom CSV or XLS spreadsheet file for further review and organization outside of Expensify, or for an import into your accounting or HR system. If you're using an accounting system that we don't directly integrate with (such as Oracle or Dynamics), this will be the perfect solution.

Create an Export Template
Export templates can be created exclusively for personal use OR for your organization as a whole. Follow the steps below based on your exporting needs!
For personal use:
- For a template that you can run from your specific account that only you will have access to, navigate to Settings > Your Account > Preferences > scroll down to CSV Export Formats.
For company-wide use:
- You will need to be an Admin for a Corporate-level company policy. Note that this feature is not available on Team policies.
- Create a policy-specific export template format at Settings > Policies > [Select policy] > Export Formats which will be available for any Policy Admin to use and export reports to.
When you create a new export format, or edit an existing one, you will see the following screen which allows you to dictate the specific content (and order) of each column in the export file.
Don't forget to save your Export Format before navigating away from the page!
Formulas allow you to enter complex, dynamic fields into your report fields and custom spreadsheet templates. They are designed to be simple formulas, as seen in Excel, but powerful enough to satisfy almost any requirement.

Export Expense Reports
In your Expensify account, start by opening an approved report - or select an entire batch of reports from the Reports page. Then click the “Export to” button and choose the pre-configured export file.
Please see the specific help article that relates to your accounting integration in order to find out more about exporting to each system.
